Symposium on "Newer Horizons in the Treatment of Tricuspid Regurgitation"

It was indeed a deep learning experience for all of us attending the symposium that we organized on July 21st with Dr. Anoop Agrawal, Interventional Cardiologist & Structural Heart Specialist at Care Hospitals. Dr. Krishnam Raju, Dr. Tapan, Dr. Kapardhi, Dr. Praneeth were the panelists of the program. The discussion that took place with regards to the diagnosis of Tricuspid Regurgitation and in establishing the cause of this was quite revealing. Dr. Krishnam Raju spoke in detail on the non-cardiac causes of TR, most of which are reversible. Dr. Anoop's talk on CAVI (TricValve system) along with the details of transcatheter valve assessment (screening of patient), QALY, etc., have been highly educative. In all those patients who are not suitable for surgical treatment of TR, CAVI with TricValve seems to be the best option as of date. The program was conducted amidst strict COVID protocols. The presence of medicos & para-medicos from the departments of Cardiology, Internal Medicine, Cardio-Thoracic Surgery, Pulmonology, Cardiac Anaesthesia made the program highly engaging.
